Senior Associate, Corporate Finance & Accounting

BKM Capital Partners is a growing firm seeking driven, entrepreneurial professionals who are passionate about their work and excited to grow with us. Based in our Newport Beach, California office, the Senior Associate, Corporate Finance & Accounting will play a key role within the corporate finance and accounting team supporting both BKM Capital Partners and BKM Management Company.

Reporting directly to Senior Management, this individual will take ownership of core corporate accounting and reporting processes, while contributing to more complex technical accounting, financial reporting, and operational initiatives. This role is ideal for a CPA with a strong Big 4 foundation who is looking to expand into a broader, high-impact role within a dynamic investment management platform.

This role is 100% in-office due to the collaborative nature.

The Job Essentials

Reporting & Analysis

  • Lead the preparation and review of monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages, including               internal management reporting and external stakeholder deliverables
  • Prepare and review detailed financial close packages, including variance analysis and executive-level         commentary (MD&A)
  • Oversee lender reporting requirements, including debt compliance packages, covenant calculations,           and financing draw submissions
  • Analyze corporate financial performance, including revenue streams, expense trends, and segment-           level results
  • Partner with leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives
  • Support tax compliance processes, including coordination with external advisors and preparation of             supporting schedules
  • Drive improvements in reporting processes, including automation, standardization, and enhancement         of data quality
  • Lead ad hoc financial analyses to support strategic decision-making

Accounting

  • Own full-cycle accounting for corporate entities, including preparation and review of financial                   statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure an           accurate and timely close
  • Oversee general ledger integrity, including maintenance of chart of accounts and consistency across           entities
  • Lead technical accounting analysis and documentation for complex or non-routine transactions
  • Coordinate and support external audit processes, including preparation of audit schedules, responding       to auditor inquiries, and ensuring timely deliverables
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring appropriate controls, accuracy, and               efficiency
  • Manage fixed asset accounting, capitalization policies, and depreciation schedules
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and best practices 

Operations & Process Improvement

  • Identify and implement process improvements across accounting, reporting, and operational workflows
  • Support system optimization initiatives within Yardi and other financial systems
  • Assist in scaling corporate infrastructure to support firm growth, including integration of new entities         or business lines
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members, as applicable

The Qualifier

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • CPA preferred
  • 3–6+ years of experience, with a strong preference for Big 4 public accounting experience and/or               investment management or real estate industry experience
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge (U.S. GAAP) and financial reporting experience
  • Experience working with audits and external auditors
  • Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling and data analysis
  • Experience with Yardi Voyager or similar ERP systems preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership
