BKM Capital Partners is a growing firm, and we are looking for hardworking professionals that want to grow with us. Located in our Newport Beach, California office, the Senior Managing Director will provide executive-level leadership and strategic input across all corporate operations, including asset management, leasing, property management, construction, and engineering/maintenance. This new role is being created to support BKM’s rapid growth as we double AUM and properties under management over the next two (2) years.
The Senior Managing Director, Corporate Execution, will monitor, project and integrate the firm’s operational functions, driving operational execution, and ensuring consistent execution across all vertical offices and regions to ensure aligning property performance with the firm’s overall investment objectives. The role requires a highly experienced leader with deep knowledge of commercial real estate, strong financial acumen, and a proven ability to scale teams, implement processes, and create new systems – all for execution.
The Job Essentials
Strategic Leadership
· Serve as the senior executive responsible for corporate operations, reporting directly to the CEO and serving on the Leadership Team.
· Create, implement, and continuously (CANI) refine process & people strategies for the execution of all corporate verticals to implement portfolio performance and investor returns.
· Translate company vision, growth targets, and investment objectives into actionable business and operational plans across all regions.
· Provide executive oversight for the day-to-day operations of the firm’s national industrial portfolio, ensuring execution of key performance indicators (KPIs), value creation business plans, and operational benchmarks.
· Ensure investor confidence by maintaining fiduciary responsibility and operational transparency required for monthly, quarterly, and yearly meetings/calls.
Operational Execution
· Identify, develop, and implement scalable software systems, processes, and performance metrics to support BKM’s goal of doubling its AUM and employee base.
· Drive the execution of standardized operational procedures across all field offices, ensuring consistency, accountability, and continuous improvement (CANI).
· Foster cross-departmental collaboration to ensure seamless execution and communication between teams.
· Ensure compliance with operational policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
· Responsible for managing BKM Functional People / Scope Flow charts to ensure forward-looking resource needs for success.
Team Leadership & Development
· Support high-performing property management, asset management, leasing and construction teams.
· Support a high-performance culture centered on accountability, transparency, and integrity.
· Support recruitment, development, and retention of top talent across all verticals of the real estate operational teams.
· Champion professional development, performance management, and succession planning within all verticals.
· Model BKM’s core values, cultivating a high-performance culture built on ownership & integrity, but focusing on innovation, respect, & teamwork.
Financial & Performance Oversight
· Collaborate with Finance executive leadership on creation of operating budgets, forecasts, and performance targets needed to measure success.
· Evaluate overall execution of operational strategies, and timelines for efficiency and ROI optimization.
· Analyze operational data to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges that impact corporate performance.
· Re-develop and execute company-wide strategies to maximize processes and people execution, and profitability.
Performance Metrics & Reporting
· Develop and track operational KPIs and metrics across all corporate functions.
· Ensure regular reporting to the CEO, investment committee regarding execution performance, operational efficiency, and tenant satisfaction.
· Drive data-driven culture by implementing systems and analytics that enable visibility into operational performance at the asset level, regional level, and fund/JV/SMA levels.
Innovation & Technology
· Leverage data analytics and technology to streamline operational execution, drive insights, and support real-time decision-making.
· Champion innovation in property operations, tenant experience, and construction execution.
The Qualifiers
· Bachelor’s degree in real estate, business, finance, or related field; MBA/advanced degree are optional.
· 10 - 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in commercial real estate, with expertise in asset management, property management, leasing, and construction.
· Proven success leading multi-regional teams and scaling operations to support rapid growth.
· Strong financial acumen with deep knowledge of real estate underwriting, valuations, and portfolio analysis.
· Experience in construction management, including oversight of capital improvement and development projects.
· Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
